Summary of work

You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Mobility product team to support the evaluation and procurement of strategic MDM solution for DWP. You will help to extract and document DWP requirements, evaluation criteria, assist with evaluation of potential candidates and make recommendation while working in collaboration with DWP Mobile Services team and leadership. You will bring to team your technical expertise, practical experience and knowledge to produce insights that focuses on improving the user experience, enhance security and provide value for money for the product.

The mobile services product is responsible for over 20,000 mobile devices accross the whole of the DWP. We are responsible for the mangement, security, infratructure and applications for this product along with the service management for all aspects of the service. Mobile Services provide devices for users who are on the move often and need to work while on move. We continualy strive to make the best possbile product for our users and improve the user experience. Mobile device management is a critical tool that helps team provide DWP services to its users. It allows users to manage and control the devices, ensure compliance and security, provide access to DWP infromation, deploy applications and support users. DWP Mobile Service must remain user focused, and due to the nature of mobile, service must move with the advances in technology and the expectations of its users. To provide the best value for money, product team is starting project to evaluate its mobile device management tool from strategic perspective which aims to make use of latest techological advancements, improve the user experience, enhance self service, provide value for money and reduce full time resources required to support the services. All of this needs to be done ensuring DWP security requirements are met and user impact is minimum.

The business problem

We are looking for a team of Business Analyst and MDM expert Infrastructure Engineer to work with current multi-disciplinary team to help with the following - 1. Assess the current service state and how MDM is integrated in it and impact of changing current tool 2. Extract and document detailed business and functional requirements for MDM that builds and improves on the current service, while catering for future roadmap and strategic direction. 3. Evaluate the potential MDM options against the requirements, technology advancements and business controls it provide, user experience, fitment with DWP technology, integration capabilities, future proofing, licensing options and value for money. Identify and document pros and cons for each of those options. 4. Conduct proof of concepts to validate the evaulation, understand any technical and implementation challenges, assess the migration impact, help with draft design and document the findings. 5. Prepare business case for future state, identify the changes, their impact and feasibility and plan to reach that future state. Agree that with Product Owner and sponsor. 6. Support and upskill the current team members

You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Mobility product team and will have access to team members, leadership, users, current and future suppliers for demand fulfilment and mobile networks. You will be expected to work closely with Product Architect, Product Manager, Delivery Manager, Product Tech Lead, MDM expert engineer, Service Manager, service desk colleagues and product BA.

Working arrangements
